2014 Fun Fundraising Events
As we can all feel the January budget squeeze, animal welfare organisations are no exception to the rule! Luckily these animal rescuers are a creative bunch which resulted in a range of fun events being organised for the next month or two. Here are a few:
First up is the organisation Dachshunds in Need in South Africa which invites all Dachshunds and wannabee Dachies to a MICROCHIP and DIP day on the 25th of January at Woodrock Rescue Centre. You can have your pet microchipped for only R50!!! A dip, nail clip and deworming would only cost you R100!
The Highveld Horsecare Unit in collaboration with Kitty and Puppy Haven will host a charity dog walk at the Lippizaner centre (Kyalami) on the 8th of February. Entrance is R30 per person and dogs are free. Dogs and owners are urged to dress to a Valentines theme :-)
Pug Rescue South Africa will also be hosting a fun event (Pugenstine happy hour) on the 8th of February. This event will be hosted at the Pug Rescue centre in Benoni. Entrance is R20 per adult and R10 per child as well as a tin of husky/ washing powder for each pug or honorary pug.

Just as all the January and February fun comes to an end, there is the Summer Fun Dog Day and craft market hosted by Woordrock animal rescue centre. This event will take place just outside Pretoria along the R55, Hennopsrivier.
Lastly Ridgeback Rehab presents their latest raffle with some stunning getaway prizes in the mix. For only R100 you can enter into the draw to win a getaway to one of 3 self catering cottage options.
PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships) are also hosting a raffle where the amazing prize is a cruise (worth R22 397) for you and 3 friends on the MSC OPERA! A ticket will only cost you R150!
